Sing Joyfully!

Sing Joyfully!

Since singing is so good a thing, I wish all men would learn to sing. So wrote William Byrd, inarguably one of the greatest composers of sung music. This concert places the art of singing at the forefront, presenting a series of choral pieces which celebrate singing itself: its purpose, its pursuit and its reward. Featuring J. S. Bach’s majestic Singet dem Herrn, alongside shorter works by Fanny Mendelssohn, Parry and Byrd himself, this promises to be a joyful and varied performance paying tribute to choral music across the centuries.
