Data protection policy

Keeping in touch with our audience

We do hope that you enjoy both coming to our concerts and hearing about them on those occasions when you are not able to join us. That is why we like to send an email to everyone on our mailing list in good time before each event.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) that came into force on 25th May 2018 requires that we only do that if we have your explicit permission. Therefore, we only send such emails to people who have confirmed that they wish to receive them or requested ‘Join our mailing list’ on our website.

How we use your personal details

We only use our mailing list for sending out emails to advertise our concerts or other special events such as singing workshops or open rehearsals. We do not pass on information from other organisations advertising their events. This means that we normally send up to five emails over the course of a year. We would need to send out an extra email in the unlikely cancellation of one of our events.

Although many people have given us full addresses in the past, the only information that we now keep is your full name and email address.

We do use an email distribution company, Mailchimp, to send our emails, which requires that they hold your name and address. If you unsubscribe from the mailing list those details will be deleted. We do not pass our mailing list, or any of its contents, to any other parties.

If you have any queries about this policy, please contact admin@petrossingers.org.

Thank you.
