I’m so grateful I found Petros Singers. Not only do we sing challenging, varied and beautiful repertoire, but we also sing it to a high standard. Both Richard, our musical director, and Toby, our singing teacher, help us all to sing at our best, and I really value that they care about the quality of our singing as well as our overall musicianship. I am so enjoying making music, learning and growing with Petros Singers, and come home from rehearsals absolutely buzzing!Jenny Ilderton, alto
We are currently recruiting altos and tenors, and will also consider bursary places in any voice part. Please contact our Membership Officer to register your interest in joining us, and to find out dates of our next open rehearsals and auditions.
Our rehearsals take place on Tuesday evenings during term time from 8.00 to 9.45pm at St Peter’s Church, Black Lion Lane, W6 9BE on the borders of Hammersmith and Chiswick (Stamford Brook or Ravenscourt Park tubes).
Choir membership is by audition which would take place at the end of either your first or second rehearsal, giving you the chance to meet and sing with the choir. If you wish to proceed, you would sing privately to Richard Bannan, our musical director. The process is relaxed and friendly – Richard is as interested in finding out what you may be able to do in the future as hearing what you can do now. Ideally bring a short piece you know well (either a solo or a choral extract is fine); you will then be taken through a few exercises to assess your vocal range, sight-reading and ear.
We are keen to recruit singers aged between 16 and 30 under our Young Singers’ Bursary Scheme.
Singers are expected to attend all rehearsals and take part in the concert at the end of each term. Please see our FAQs for more information about what’s involved in being a choir member.
