A Winter's Day and Night
Our musical journey, encompassing both wintertime and Christmastide, has two works by contemporary composers as its focus: Sarah Quartelâs cantata, A Winter Day, conjures up haunting and vivid images of a cold and crisp winter, and of swirling, dancing snowflakes; in contrast, Cecilia McDowallâs carol cycle, A Winter’s Night, combines several joyous songs to create a performance full of Christmas spirit. This festive celebration will also include some favourite Christmas works, as well as the ever-popular audience carols for you to sing.
Weâre delighted to welcome Christopher Webb, bass-baritone, and Cara Berridge, violoncello, along with our accompanist Alex Knight. Do join us for candlelight, mulled wine and mince pies to get the Christmas season off to a great start!
